5The BEST bathroom scale!
By Shawn Johnson
I don’t ordinarily write reviews for merchandise unless they are actually in truth aweinspiring or in truth actually fantastic. I never thought I’d be saying this regarding a bathroom scale, but this scale is actually actually fantastic. Looks great, quickly calculates weight, numbers are easy to read, feels heavy and well-constructed and it is very accurate. My wife was weighed at the doctor’s office and then came home to compare and the reading from our new Ozeri scale matched exactly. Wonderful product at a terrific price.

3This scale has phony repeatability
By Minnesota Frank
The scale looks very nice and neat. The display is very readable, except while standing on it. This may partially be due to the fact I’m tall (6′ 6″). The initial thing I did (probably what every one does) is to make various repeated measurements to check repeatablity. After the original reading, which is a calibration, I got the same reading right down to the .2 pound solution of the scale. I thought great! As I employed the scale various times a day to track my weight loss, I became elaborated to fine that it would give the same weight on measurements when I knew my weight was scaled down by up to one pound! Examples are before and after removing my underwear, before and after going to the bathroom. It was then that I realized that the construct had imbedded an algoithm to give the same reading as the former measurement provided the weight has not changed by at least one pound. I verified this by taking assorted 1/2 pound tubs of margarine and took measurements while keeping 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0 tubs. The weight stayed the same when I kept 5, 3, and 1; dropped by 1.0 or 1.2 when I kept 4, 2, and 0 tubs. It is hard for me to verify, but I think if a long time (whever that is) goes by betweem measurements, then the scale starts fresh. I would much prefer that the scale report it’s real measurement and let me deal with the natural variabiliy. As it is, if it misses by, say 0.4 pounds, on the original attempt, it will carry on to give you that phony reading on repeated measurements. I give it 3 out of 5 for it’s attractiveness and low price (I salaried $25.00 with free shipping).
Update: In April, after less than 4 months of use, the scale stopped working. It just started showing random numbers. I tried replacing the batteries, but that made no difference. I then purchased a similar scale (Taylor Glass Electronic Scale 7519). The new scale has precisely the same repeatability issue. I’ve just learned to receive and deal with it. At this point I’ve had the new scale 3 months and I’m happy with it.

1Had issues after the introductory month!
By Allan Leinwand
I genuinely liked the look of this scale and decisive to give it a try. Initially, the product performed wondrously and was very accurate.

Then, after the initial month, difficultnesses started. The scale would need continual calibration (displayed a ‘C’) and then I had to calibrate it every day to get an precise reading. After a few days of this behavior, the scale just stopped working. What it in truth did was continually cycle through a heap of sort of error mode (displaying respective weights of 5 pounds to 300 pounds at random when no-one was standing on it). This happened for over 24 hours straight and at long last drained the batteries. I swapped batteries and saw the same result. I’ve since got rid of the batteries and the problem has gone away – and the scale is inoperable.

I will have to mention that my scale is on a hardwood surface and I never had any issues with the scale turning on, with the need to fix the feet or anything like that. I suspect this was just a poor quality scale – too bad as my primary impression was outstanding and I now have an inoperable product.
